Pudding~ Bread Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cup: Stale bread crumbs,
1 quart: Scalded milk,
1/3 cup: Sugar,
1/4 cup: Melted butter,
1: Egg,
1/2 tsp: Salt,
Directions:
Soak bread crumbs in milk, add sugar, butter, egg slightly
beaten,and salt. Flavor to taste and bake in a moderate oven.
Time in oven, 1 hour. Temp., 325 degrees. Servings, 6.
VARIATIONS: Melt two squares of chocolate and add to scalded milk.
Cararmelize three tablespoons of sugar; dissolve in hot water to
make a syrup and add to the scalded milk.
Add spice and raisins.
