Shaker Bread Puddn Recipe

Ingredients:
4 cup: Bread, stale
1/4 t: Salt,
1 cup: Warm milk,
1/2 cup: Sugar,
1/2 t: Nutmeg,
Brown sugar sauce,
1/2 lbs: Brown sugar,
1/4 cup: Butter,
1/4 cup: Flour,

Directions:
Crumble stale bread. Soak for 20 minutes in milk & ssalt. Com- bine
eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg & beat well.>>> Pour mixture over
bread, stir lightly. Steam tightly covered with foil in a pan set in
hot water fora about 45 minutes at 350~. Cover with me- ringue and
bake at 300 for 15 minutes. Serve with brown sugar sauce. Mix sugar
and flour well. Add boiling water. Cook mixture until thick. Remove
from fire and add butter and vanilla.
