White Chocolate Macadamia Bars Recipe

Ingredients:
1 package: , (9 oz) chocolate wafer cooki
9 ounce: White chocolate, imported
1 Stick: unsalted butter,
-- cut in 1/2" chunks,
1 1/4 cup: Coconut, flaked or shredded
1 can: Sweetened condensed milk,
1 Jar: , (7 oz) macadamia nuts

Preparation Time: 0:45 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a food processor,
grind cookies until crushed to fine crumbs. Place butter in a 9 x
13-inch baking pan. Heat in oven until melted, watching carefully,
about 3 to 4 mins. Remove pan from oven; stir in crumbs until
thorouhgly moistened. Spread evenly in pan, pressing gently with back
of fork or spoon to form crust. 2. Sprinkle coconut evenly over crumb
mixture; then sprinkle nuts and white chocolate chunks on top.
Drizzle sweetened condensed milk evenly over all. 3. Bake 23 to 25
mins, or until golden brown. Let cool in pan. Cut into 40 ( 1 1/2 x 1
3/4-inch) bars.
Variation: BITTERSWEET MACADAMIA BARS
Substitute 1 1/2 cups ( about 9 ozs) bittersweet chocolate chunks for
white chocolate chunks. Proceed with recipe as directed above.
Personal note: Try substituting 1/2 of the white chocolate with an
equal amount of bittersweet chocolate for a black and white effect.
