Old-fashioned Tea Cakes Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup: Butter,
2 cup: Granulated sugar,
3: Eggs,
1/2 cup: Buttermilk,
1 tsp: Baking soda,
Enough flour, approximately 2 to 4 cups
Flavor to taste with lemon, vanilla or spices

Blend butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating
after each. Add buttermilk, baking soda, flavoring and enough flour to form
a soft dough. Chill dough before rolling 1/4-inch thick and cut. Bake in
350 degree oven until slightly browned.
I realize this is a very vague recipe, but it is also a very old recipe.
Give it a try, you might be surprised at the results.
