Baked Cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 tsp: Salt,
2 2/3 cup: Water,
2/3 cup: Hominy grits, quick-cooking
2 tbsp: Butter or margarine,
6 ounce: American cheese, shredded
2: Eggs, beaten
1/8 tsp: Pepper,

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F (moderate)

Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

Add salt to water. Bring to a full, rolling boil. Add grits; return
to boiling point. Cook, stirring constantly, until very thick, about
6 minutes.

Remove from heat. Add fat. Mix cheese, eggs, and pepper. Stir into
grits. Pour into baking dish. Bake 40 minutes or until lightly
browned.

Calories per 2/3 cup serving: About 230
