Monte Cristo Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup: Butter, softened
2 tsp: Prepared mustard,
12 slice: White bread,
6 slice: Swiss cheese, cut in half
6 slice: Cooked ham,
3: Eggs, beaten
1/3 cup: Milk,
Confectioners sugar and,
Cherry preserves,
Directions:
In a small bowl beat together the butter and mustard until well
blended. Spread on one side of each slice of bread. for each
sandwich, top one slice of bread with half a slice of cheese, one
slice of ham, half a slice of cheese, and second slice of bread,
butter side down. In a medium bowl beat together the eggs and milk.
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture. Brown both sides of the
sandwich on a lightly buttered griddle. Place on a cookie sheet and
bake in a 425 oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Slice each sandwich in half,
sprinkle with confectioners sugar, and top with preserves.
