Smoky Joes Recipe

Ingredients:
-Pam Coombes,
1 lbs: Bacon,
1/4 cup: Butter,
1 medium: Onion, chopped
2: To 3 8oz cans tomato sauce,
1/2 tsp: Pepper,
1 lbs: Ground beef,
1: 1 lb pkg shredded cheddar,
Cheese,
8: Hamburger buns or hot baked,
Potatoes,

Directions:
In a large skillet, cook bacon; drain reserving fat. Crumble bacon
and set aside. Leaving enough bacon fat in skillet to just coat the
bottom, add butter and melt over low heat. Saute onion until
transparent. Add 2 cans tomato sauce and pepper; simmer, covered. In
a separate skillet, brown ground beef; drain before adding to onion
and tomato mixture. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes; stir in crumbled
bacon and cook 1 more minute. Reduce heat to very low and stir in
cheese. A third can of tomato sauce may be added if desired. Best
