Lowfat Scones Recipe

Ingredients:
1 tbsp: Baking powder,
1/2 tsp: Salt,
2 tbsp: Sugar,
1/2 tsp: Equal sweetener,
2 cup: Flour,
1/2 cup: Mrs. batemans baking butter,
2 large: Egg white,
1/2 cup: Skim milk,

Directions:
Recipe by: Misty Simon Sift together baking powder,
salt, sugar, equal and flour. Soften baking butter in
microwave for 20 seconds. Cut baking butter into flour
mixture until crumbly. In separate bowl, whisk
together egg whites, and milk. Add egg mixture to
flour mixture and mix with a fork just until combined.
Turn out on floured board and pat into a large circle.
Cut into 8 triangles. Place on nonstick cookie sheet
and bake in an oven preheated to 450 for 12 to 14
minutes or until lightly golden. If desired, add 2
tablespoons of currants, raisins or nuts (not figured
into nutrition analysis).

Serve with my lowfat, reduced sugar lemon curd.

Each scone has 177 calories and 1.3 g fat compared to
303 calories and 18.4 g fat in the traditional recipe.
