Curry Powder Pickles (mennonite) Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 each: Peck of cucumbers, each
3 cup: Sugar,
-about 2-inches long,
1 tbsp: Celery seed,
1/2 cup: Salt,
2 tbsp: Mustard seed,
Water to cover,
2 tsp: Curry powder,
1 quart: Vinegar,
1/2 tsp: Powdered alum,
Directions:
Wash cucumbers and cover with salt water. Let stand 3 hours and then
drain. Combine vinegar, sugar, alum, and spices. Bring to a boil and
add cucumbers. When the boiling point has been reached again, pack
pickles in hot
jars and seal.
