Sugar-coated Fried Bread -torrijas- Recipe

Ingredients:
500 milliliter: milk,
1 small: stick cinnamon,
100 gram: sugar,
1: french loaf, cut into thick slices
2: eggs, beaten
100 milliliter: olive oil,
1 tbsp: caster sugar,
1 tsp: ground cinnamon,
Directions:
Bring the milk, cinnamon stick and sugar to the boil. Discard the cinnamon
stick, and pour the milk over the bread slices, making sure they are
thoroughly soaked. Dip the bread slices in beaten egg. Heat the oil and fry
the bread until golden brown on both sides, then drain on a wire rack. Mix
the caster sugar and cinnamon and roll the torrijas in the spiced sugar
before serving.
