Lithuanian Honey Bread A La Beth Recipe

Ingredients:
1 tbsp: Yeast,
1/2 cup: Water, 95 to 105 deg
1/2 cup: Honey,
1 tbsp: Coriander,
1/2 tsp: Cinnamon,
1/4 tsp: Ground cloves,
1 1/4 tsp: Salt,
1: Egg,
4 tbsp: Melted butter, cooled
1 cup: Milk, scalded and cooled
4 1/4 cup: Flour,

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water; let stand. Mix egg, honey, spices and salt
in deep bowl. Add milk and butter; mix. Add yeast. Gradually stir in
flour; knead. Allow to rise until double in greased bowl; knead again
for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Shape into round loaf (bakes well in round
casserole, metal bowl or cookie sheet). Brush with melted butter. Let
rise until almost double. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 plus hours, until
it sounds hollow when tapped on top and is a gorgeous brown.
