Low-fat Cream Soup Mix Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cup: Nonfat dry milk,
3/4 cup: Cornstarch,
2 tbsp: Dried onion,
1/2 tsp: Pepper,
1 tsp: Basil, dried
1 tsp: Thyme, dried
1/4 cup: Instant chicken bouillon,
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Use in recipes in place of condensed
cream of chicken soup (be sure to follow directions below to reconstitute.
Add mushrooms to substitute from condensed cream of mushroom soup.
METHODS FOR MAKING THE EQUIVALENT OF ONE CAN OF CONDENSED SOUP:
Stovetop: In saucepan, conbine 1/3 cup dry mix with 1 1/4 cups cold water.
Cook and stir over low heat until thickened.
Microwave Method: In a glass measuring cup, combine 1/3 cup dry soup mix
with 1 1/4 cups cold water. Heat on high for 4 - 5 minutes, stirring
several times, until mixture thickens.
1/3 cup dry mix = 175 calories and 2 g fat
