Swiss Cabbage Pie - Ethel Buffington Recipe

Ingredients:
1 Loaf: Unbaked Bread, (Can Use
1/4 tsp: Pepper,
Frozen Dough),
3: Eggs, beaten
1 lbs: Bacon,
1 1/2 cup: Cream Or Half And Half,
8 cup: Cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup: Swiss Cheese, Grated
1/2 tsp: Salt,
Optional,

Directions:
* Heat oven to 350 F.

1. Roll out the bread dough about 1/4-inch thick and place it in a
9-inch pie pan. Crimp edges, as would for a pie.

2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and brown them in a large heavy
skillet. Pour off all but 1 Tbs of grease. Stir in the shredded
cabbage and cook over moderate heat, stirring, for 1 min.

3. Over low heat, add salt and pepper, eggs, cream and the cheese.
Cook for 3 to 4 mins, stirring. Put mixture in the crust and bake for
30 mins, or until filling is set and the edges are golden brown.
