Slow-cooked Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients:
2 lbs: String Beans,
1/4 tsp: Oregano,
2: Slabs Bacon cut through,
1 1/2 tsp: Savory,
-rind at 1/2" intervals,
1 tsp: Sugar,
4 tbsp: Bacon Fat Or Vegetable Oil,
1 tsp: Salt,
1 tbsp: Red Wine Vinegar,
ds Cayenne Pepper,
1 Clove: Garlic, minced

Directions:
Wash the beans and place on top of the bacon in a saucepan. Barely
cover with water. Add the other ingredients, except the salt and
cayenne pepper. Simmer, partially covered, at least 1 hr, until the
liquid has almost evaporated. Add salt and cayenne pepper to tatse,
stir, cover again, and simmer a few mins, until the water has
completely evaporated. Serve the same or the following day.

Serves 6-8.
