California-style Barbecue Sauce` Recipe

Ingredients:
3/4 cup: Granulated Sugar,
1/2 cup: Japanese Soy Sauce,
1/2 cup: Tomato Catsup,
1/2 cup: Dry Sherry,
3 Cloves: Garlic, crushed
1 tsp: Ground Ginger,
1/2 tsp: Pepper, freshly ground
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, stir all ingredients until combined. Ccver and
refrigerate until ready to use. (The sauce can be prepared up to 3
days ahead, covered, and refrigerated.) Note: This sauce shows the
influence of Asian ranch cooks.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups from Hearst Ranches of San Simeon, CA.
