Cream Of Tomato Soup^ Recipe

Ingredients:
1 quart: Tomatoes,
1/2 tsp: Baking soda,
1/4 cup: Butter,
1/3 cup: Flour,
1 quart: Milk,
Salt & pepper,
Directions:
Simmer tomatoes in a covered saucepan for about 15 minutes. Press
through a strainer and add baking soda. In saucepan, melt butter,
stir in flour and cook until thick. Slowly add milk. Remove from
stove and slowly add the hot tomatoes, stirring constantly. Season
and serve at once. Many of the recipes in this collection did not
contain amounts or oven temperatures. I have typed them in as they
appear in the book, typos and all.
