Mothers Port Wine Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup: Sugar,
2 tbsp: Corn startch,
ds Salt,
1 cup: Boiling water,
1 Stick: cinnamon, opt
1/2 cup: Port wine,
1 tbsp: Butter,
Juice of 1/2 lemon,
2: Or 3 lemonslices,
Several dashes nutmeg,
Few drops red cake coloring,
Directions:
Mix sugar, starch, salt and water. Cook and stir well. When
mixture thickens add butter, wine, lemon juice, nutmeg, lemon slices
and cinnamon stick. Stir well.
This sauce may be served over custards, puddings, or plain cakes.
It is better if you let it set for several hours.
