Mashed Potato Balls Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cup: Mashed potatoes,
Shortening,
1/4 cup: Water,
2 tbsp: Shortening,
1/4 tsp: Salt,
1/8 tsp: Pepper,
1/4 cup: Flour,
1: Egg,

Directions:
Heat 2-3" shortening to 365F. in a deep fryer or deep saucepan.
Combine water, 2 tablespoons shortening, salt and pepper in a medium
saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in flour. Cook and stir until mixture
forms a ball. Cool slightly, about 2 minutes. Beat in egg (dough will
be very thick). Add potatoes. Mix well. Drop by rounded
tablespoonfuls, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry 3-5 minutes. Turn
as needed for even browning. Remove with a slotted metal spoon. Drain
