Pickling Liquid Recipe

Ingredients:
3 cup: Distilled white vinegar,
1 cup: Water,
2 1/2 cup: Sugar,
1/4 cup: Salt,
1 1/2 tsp: Whole allspice,
1: , (3-inch) cinnamon stick
1 1/2 tsp: Celery seeds,
1 1/2 tsp: Mustard seeds,
1 1/2 tsp: Whole black pepper corns,
Directions:
Place all of the ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan, over high
heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer
for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely. Strain the
liquid and store in an airtight container. Yield: about 1 quart
