Pie Dough (pate Brise) Recipe

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:
3/4 cup: Butter, 1 1/2 sticks
3/4 cup: Shortening,
1/4 cup: Granulated sugar,
1 tbsp: Salt,
4 cup: All purpose flour,
1/2 cup: Very cold water,

Directions:
Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and salt until blended. Add flour
all at once and cut with a fork until mix forms lumps. Add water all
at once and quickly mix until dough can be gathered into a soft ball.
Form ball into "patty" approximately 1-inch thick. Wrap in plastic
and refrigerate until very cold. Dough can be frozen.
