Gold Rush Nut Brittle Recipe

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup: Sugar,
1 tsp: Baking soda,
1 cup: Corn syrup. light,
6 ounce: Roasted, unsalted peanuts
1/2 tsp: Salt,
1 can: Almonds, 3 1/4 oz can, sliver
2 tbsp: Margarine or butter,
1 can: Pecans,, 3 oz
2 tsp: Vanilla,
1/2 cup: Water,

Directions:
In 3 qt saucepan, over medium heat, heat sugar, corn syrup, salt and
1/2 cup water, to boiling,stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
Set candy thermometer in place and continue cooking stirring
frequently until temp. reaches 300 f or hard crack stage, when small
amount of mix dropped into very cold water separates into hard and
brittle threads.) about 30 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat, stir
in butter vanilla baking soda and nuts. immediately pour onto
ungreased large cookie sheet. with 2 forks, quickly sift and stretch
nut mixture into about 14 by 12 inch rectangle. Cool brittle on
cookie sheet. with hands, break brittle into smaller pieces. store in
