Marys Sugar Cookies ** (soft Dough) Recipe

1 1/2 cup: SIFTED POWDERED SUGAR,
1 cup: BUTTER,
1 each: EGG,
1 tsp: VANILLA,
1/2 tsp: ALMOND FLAVORING,
2 1/2 cup: FLOUR,
1 tsp: SODA,
1 tsp: CREAM OF TARTAR,
Directions:
MIX SUGAR AND BUTTER. ADD EGG AND FLAVORINGS. MIX THOROUGHLY. MIX
FLOUR SODA AND CREAM OF TARTAR. MIX INTO SUGAR MIXTURE. REFRIGERATE
FOR 2 TO 3 HOURS. HEAT OVEN TO 375 F. DIVIDE DOUGH IN HALF AND ROLL
TO A THICKNESS OF 3/16" ON A FLOURED SURFACE. CUT WITH COOKIE CUTTER
TO DESIRED SHAPE. PLACE ON LIGHTLY GREASED COOKIE SHEETS. Recipe
makes a very tender dough.
