New Mexico Spoon Bread Recipe

Ingredients:
1 can: Cream style corn, 16 oz
3/4 cup: Milk,
1/3 cup: Melted shortening,
1 1/2 cup: Cornmeal,
2: Eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp: Soda,
1 tsp: Baking powder,
1 tsp: Salt,
1 tsp: Sugar, optional
1 1/2 cup: Grated cheddar cheese,
4 ounce: Can diced green chiles,

Directions:
Mix all ingredients. Pour the batter into a greased cast iron
skillet. Bake at 400 degrees F in oven for 45 minutes; cool slightly,
slice like a pie, and serve.
