Favorite Molasses Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup: Sugar,
1 cup: Shortening,
1 cup: Molasses dark, plus
3 tbsp: Molasses dark,
3/4 cup: -warm water,
1: Egg,
3 tsp: Baking soda, add to water
1 tsp: Salt,
2 tsp: Ginger,
2 tsp: Cinnamon,
1 tsp: Cloves,
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, add molasses, then water, egg and
remaining ingredients. Add enough flour to make a nice thick dough.
Chill several hours or overnite. Roll out and cut into 3" rounds.
Bake at 400 for 8 min. or till done. Sprinkle with sugar. Lorna
