Split Pea Stew Recipe

Ingredients:
1 lbs: Beef Stew,
3 slice: Bacon,
1: Onion, cut into eights
6 cup: Water,
1 cup: Dry Split Peas,
1: Lime, juice and rind
2 tsp: Salt,
1/4 tsp: Nutmeg,
1/4 tsp: Turmeric,
16 ounce: Whole Kernel Corn, drained
16 ounce: Carrots, drained
Directions:
In a dutch oven, brown beef with bacon. Add onion and 2 cups water.
Simmer 1 hour. Add 4 cups of water, split peas, lime juice and rind,
salt, nutmeg and turmeric. Simmer one hour more. Add corn and
carrots. Heat therough, serve.
