Old Herefordshire Cider Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
8 ounce: Flour,
4 ounce: Sugar,
1/4 lbs: Butter,
2 each: Eggs,
1/2 each: Grated nutmeg,
1: Teacup of cider,
1 each: Level Tspn baking soda,

Directions:
Beat the butter and sugar into a cream. . Add the eggs, well beaten,
then the 4 oz of flour sifted with the baking soda and nutmeg. . Pour
over all the cider, beaten to a froth. Mix thoroughly. . Stir in
remainder of the flour and mix well together. . Bake in a shallow,
well-greased tin, for 45 minutes in a moderate oven.
