Chicken With Sausage ^ Recipe

Ingredients:
3 tbsp: Olive oil,
-tomatoes, broken up with
2 lbs: Chicken pieces,
-fork,
4: Sweet Italian sausage links,
3 tbsp: Tomato paste,
1 medium: Onion, sliced
1/2 cup: Red wine,
1 large: Green pepper, seeded and
1 tsp: Basil,
-sliced,
Pinch sugar,
1 cup: Sliced mushrooms,
Salt and pepper to taste,
1 can: , (16 oz) Italian style plum
Directions:
Heat oil in heavy skillet. Fry chicken, a few at a time, until golden
brown, turning frequently. Remove from skillet and drain on paper
towels. Add sausages to skillet; prick with fork. Fry until well
browned and thoroughly cooked, about 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
Discard all but 3 tablespoons drippings. Add onion, green pepper and
mushrooms to skillet; saute for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato
paste, wine and seasonings; stir well. Bring to a boil, then add
chicken and sausage. Cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes. Transfer to
serving dish and serve with plain pasta. 4 servings.
