Pistachio-mint Brownies^ Recipe

Ingredients:
Southern Living 2/94,
Carolyn Shaw 6-95,
2 ounce: Semisweet chocolate,
1/3 cup: Butter or margarine,
1 cup: Sugar,
2 large: Eggs,
1 tsp: Vanilla,
3/4 cup: Flour,
1/4 tsp: Salt,
1/2 cup: Chopped pistachios or,
Pecans,
1 package: , (8 3/4oz) chocolate mint
Patties, unwrapped
2 tbsp: Chopped pistachios or,
Pecans,
Directions:
Combine chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat,
stirring often until chocolate melts. Remove from heat.
Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and salt, stirring until
blended. Stir in 1/2 cup pistachios. Spoon into a greased 8" square
pan.
Bake at 350F. for 22 minutes. Top with mint patties. Bake an
additional 2 minutes.
Cover with foil and let stand 5 minutes. Uncover and evenly spread
melted mint patties over top. Sprinkle evenly with 2 tablespoons nuts
and cool on a wire rack. Cut into squares.makes 16 squares.
