Apfel Schnee (apple Snow) - For Custards Recipe

Ingredients:
1 quart: Milk,
6: Eggs,
4 tbsp: Sugar,
1/2 tsp: Vanilla,
6: Apples,
Directions:
Let milk come to a boil. Beat sugar and yolks of eggs well and stir
into milk. Add a pinch of salt and continue stirring to prevent
curdling.
When cool, add vanilla. Before serving, beat the egg whites to a
stiff froth with 1/2 cup sugar. Fold in the grated apples. Drop by
spoonful on custard.
