Aunt Dodies Eggless Cake^ Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup: Sugar,
1/2 cup: Lard,
1 cup: Sweet milk,
1 tsp: Vanilla,
1/2 tsp: Ground cloves,
1/2 tsp: Cinnamon,
1 tsp: Slat,
1 tsp: , (scant) cream of tartar
1 tsp: , (scant) baking soda
2 cup: Flour,
Directions:
Cream sugar and lard. Add milk and vanilla. Add cloves, cinnamon and
salt. Mix together the cream of tartar, baking soda and flour. Beat
this into the batter, a little at a time. Pour into a greased tin,
bake in a moderate oven until done. this is good with a little cream
poured over each serving.
