Manyas Sausage Barley And Vegetable Soup - Bon Appetit Recipe

Ingredients:
6 ounce: Kielbasa or other fully cooked smoked sausage, thinly sliced
1 medium: Onion, chopped
4 1/2 cup: Canned beef broth,
1: 14 1/2 to 16-oz can stewed tomatoes,
1/2 cup: Pearl barley, rinsed
1 tsp: Dried savory,
1 cup: Frozen mixed vegetables,

Directions:
Saute sausage in heavy large saucepan over medium heat until
beginning to brown, about 2 minutes. Add onion and saute until onion
is golden and soft, about 4 minutes. Add beef broth, tomatoes with
their juices, barley and savory and bring soup to boil. Reduce heat,
cover pan partially and simmer until barley is tender, about 20
minutes. Mix in vegetables and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
Season soup to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
