Northern Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 lbs: Ground beef, optional
1 1/2 cup: Ham, cubed cooked
8 each: Sl Bacon, cut into small
1 lbs: Great Northern beans, rinsed
-pieces,
-soaked overnight & drained,
1 medium: Onion, chopped
6 cup: , Water, hot
1 small: Bell pepper, green, chopped
1/4 t: Pepper,
1 each: Garlic clove, finely chopped

Directions:
Put the ground beef, if you are using it, in a 1 1/4-quart
microwavable casserole. Cover and microwave on High for 2 to 4
minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Stir it once or twice to
break it up. Drain the meat and set aside. Combine the bacon, onion,
green pepper and garlic in a 5-quart micro- wavable casserole.
Microwave on High for 6 to 7 minutes until the green pepper is
tender. Stir once or twice during cooking. Add the ground beef, ham,
dried beans, water and pepper. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 15 to
20 minutes until boiling. Stir once during cooking. Reduce the power
to MEDIUM (50 %) and microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until the beans
