Chili ( Classic Texas ) Recipe

Ingredients:
1/4 cup: vegetable oil,
3 lb: beef round or chuck cut into,
1: 1 inch cubes,
1 1/2 quart: water,
4 tablespoon: to 6 tb chili powder,
2 teaspoon: tabasco sauce,
2 teaspoon: salt,
2 teaspoon: dried oregano,
2 teaspoon: cumin,
1/3 cup: cornmeal,
1: hot cooked rice and beans,
1: optional,
Directions:
Heat oil in large saucepan or Dutch oven. Add beef and brown on all
sides. Add water, chili powder, garlic, tabasco sauce, salt and
oregano and cumin. Mix well. Bring to a boil cover and reduce heat.
Simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes, Stirring occaisionally. Add cornmeal
and mix well. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes or until beef is tender.
Garnish if desired. Serve with rice and beans if desired. From
