Oatmeal Soup Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup: oats, regular, uncooked
1 quart: chicken broth,
1 large: onion, sliced
1: bay leaf,
1 cup: half-and-half,
1: salt,
1: pepper,
Directions:
Combine oats, chicken broth, onion, and bay leaf in a heavy saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, stirring constantly.
Remove bay leaf and process soup in a blender until smooth, or press
through a sieve. Return soup to heat and bring to a boil. Remove from
heat; add half-and-half and salt and pepper to taste. Serve very hot.
