Pumpkin Fig Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup: Flour, sifted
1 1/2 tsp: Salt,
1 tsp: Baking powder,
1/4 tsp: Baking soda,
3/4 cup: Oats, old-fashioned or quick
1 cup: Brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup: Sugar,
1/2 cup: Shortening,
1 tsp: Cinnamon,
1/2 tsp: Nutmeg,
1: Egg,
1 cup: Pumpkin, canned or fresh
1 cup: Figs, dried, chopped
3/4 cup: Walnuts, chopped
1 tbsp: Orange peel, grated
Directions:
Mix and sift flour, salt, baking powder, and soda; stir in oats; set
aside. Cream sugars with shortening and spices; beat in egg. Add
flour mixture alternately with pumpkin. Stir in dried figs, walnuts
and orange peel. Drop by Tablespoons on greased cookie sheets. Bake
at 375 F degrees for about 15 minutes.
