Low Fat Greek Stew Recipe

Yield: 1 batch
Recipe by luhu.jp

Ingredients:
2 lbs: Beef, trimmed of all visible fat and cubed
Ground pepper to taste,
6 ounce: Tomato paste,
1 cup: Dry white wine,
2 T: Raisins,
1/4 tsp: Cumin,
1 centiliter: Garlic, pressed or minced
1: Bay leaf,
1 Stick: of cinnamon,
2 cup: Frozen small white onions,

Directions:
In a large pot combine meat and pepper. Mix all the other ingredients
except the onions and add to the meat. Cover and bake in a 300 degree
oven for about an hour, or until meat is tender. Add onions and cook for
10 minutes more. Discard bay leaf, skim off any fat and serve over or
with your favorite grain.

This dish freezes very well. If you make it to freeze add the onions when
you reheat. When making in a crock pot, just throw all the ingredients in
in the morning, set pot on low, and dinner will be ready when youre back
from work.

My preference was to make it in the crock pot, refrigerate over night,
scrap of any fat the next day, and then add the onions and reheat.
Sometimes Id make it without grinding the pepper, but just toss in a
bunch of black pepper without grinding.
