The Little Red Hens: Wholegrain Scones ! Recipe

Ingredients:

CUP OF TEA IN THE AFTERNOON
18 cup: Fresh milled Golden 86 flour,
Or a combination of:,
13 1/2 cup: Golden 86,
4 1/2 cup: Bronze Chief flours,
3: ,
C non-instant non-fat dry milk,
10: ,
T Baking Powder,
1: ,
T Salt,
1/2 cup: honey,
1/2 cup: safflower or canola oil,
4 1/2 cup: spring water,
Directions:
For each cup of the dry mixture add in up to 1/2 C of any combination of
the following: raisins or currants, dried cranberries, chopped fresh
fruit, walnuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, carob or chocolate chips !
**Each cup of the dry mixture will make 4-6 scones when mixed with 1/4 C of
water.
In a large bowl add all the dry ingredients. Add to the scone mixture any
extra goodies: nuts, currants, spices, etc. . In a blender whip the honey,
oil, and the water. Pour the liquid mixture onto the dry mixture. By
hand, quickly and very gently mix until the mixture holds together. Turn
dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times. Form into
rounds, ~ 1/2" thick , and score into wedges. Bake at ~375 degrees for
7-10 minutes until golden brown. Immediately cool on racks. Serve at
room temperature or warmed. Scones freeze very well and are easily
reheated within minutes.
