Mulled Apple Or Pear Cider Medieval Recipe

Ingredients:
2 quart: Fresh apple cider or pear,
1/8 tsp: Thyme,
-juice,
1/2 tsp: Ginger powder,
1/4 tsp: Nutmeg,
7 each: Sticks cinnamon,
GARNISH
1 tbsp: Finely crushed sweet basil,
Directions:
In a large enameled pot, gently simmer the juice with the spices for
7 minutes.
Break the cinnamon sticks, placing a portion in each tankard or
chalice or glass. Pour on warmed cider. Sprinkle sweet basil
sparingly on top.
