Old-fashioned Prune Whip Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cup: Dried prunes, cooked,
Mashed,
2 tsp: Lemon juice,
1 dash: Salt,
1 tsp: Lemon zest,
4 tbsp: Powdered sugar,
4: Egg whites,
Directions:
Pit prunes and mash. Blend in lemon peel and lemon juice, 2
tablespoons sugar and salt. To stiffly beaten egg whites, add
remaining sugar, beating until mixed well. Fold in prune mixture
gently. Pile lightly into 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Bake at 350
degrees for 20-30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out
clean. Serve warm with custard sauce if desired.
