Marinated Mushrooms #5 Recipe

Yield: 3 1/2 cups

Ingredients:
3/4 cup: Vegetable oil,
1/4 tsp: Thyme, ground
1/2 cup: Heinz red wine vinegar,
1: Garlic clove, halved
1 1/2 tsp: Salt,
6: Peppercorns,
1 tsp: Sugar,
1: Bay leaf,
1/2 tsp: Basil leaves, dried
1 1/2 lbs: Small mushrooms, fresh

Directions:
Combine all ingredients (except mushrooms) in a large saucepan. Heat
to boiling. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Add mushrooms; simmer
uncovered for 3 minutes. Transfer mushrooms and liquid into a bowl.
Cover; chill several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
Drain and serve as an appetizer on a relish tray. Makes about 3 1/2
cups.
