Peanut Blossoms (brown-eyed Susans) Recipe

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup: All-purpose flour,
2 T: Milk,
1/2 cup: Sugar,
1 t: Vanilla,
1/2 cup: Firmly packed brown sugar,
1 each: Egg,
1 t: Baking soda,
48 each: Milk chocolate candy,
1/2 t: Salt,
-kisses,
1/2 cup: Shortening,
Sugar, for rolling
1/2 cup: Peanut butter,
Directions:
Heat oven to 375F. Combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking
soda, salt, shortening, peanut butter, milk, vanilla and egg in a
large bowl. Blend with an electric mixer at low speed until a stiff
dough forms. Shape into 1-inch balls and roll in additional sugar.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12
minutes or until golden brown. Immediately top each cookie with a
candy kiss, pressing down firmly so the cookie cracks around the
edge. Remove from the cookie sheets and cool completely. Makes 4
dozen. Per serving (cookie): 100 calories; 2 g protein, 12 g
