1 1/2 lb: bulk sausage,
2: eggs,
3/4 cup: dry bread crumbs,
7 oz: can water chestnuts,
1: drained, finely chopped,
1/2 teaspoon: leaf basil sauce,

1: for leaf basil sauce...,
1/4 cup: butter,
1/4 cup: flour,
1 1/2 cup: milk,
1: salt & pepper to taste,
3 teaspoon: prepared mustard,
1: ( dijonaise),
1/4 teaspoon: dill weed,
1 cup: sour cream,
Directions:
Sausage Cocktail Balls....
Throughly combine all ingredients except sauce; mix well. Shape into bite
size meatballs about 1/2 " to 1 ". Place on rack of broiler pan. Bake in a
preheated 425 degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Drain well.
Place browned sausage balls in a lightly greased crockpot. Cover and cook
on low 5-6 hours. Serve on wooden picks for dipping in sauce.

In saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Blend in flour until smooth.
Gradually stir in milk. Add remaining ingredients. Cool and stir until
smooth and thick.

pork is lean or any fatty piece of meat is pre-browned for about 20
minutes, as a lot of fat can cause overcooking in a crockpot and cause a
loss of flavor.
