Yankee Yams Recipe

Ingredients:

2 tablespoon: butter, or margarine, softened
5 medium: yams or sweet potatoes,
3: cooking apples, peeled, cored, cut into 8
1/4 teaspoon: ground nutmeg,
1/4 cup: maple flavored syrup,
2 tablespoon: margarine, or butter, melted
2 tablespoon: pecans, chopped, optional
Directions:
Brush 2 tbsp softened butter on bottom and about 6" up sides of slowcooker.
Peel yams or sweet potatoes; cut into 1/2" crosswise slices. Place on
bottom of slowcooker. Top with apple wedges; then nutmeg, maple syrup, and
2 tbsp melted butter. Cover and cook on LOW 3.1/2 to 4 hours or until
tender. Sprinkle with pecans, if desired.
Per serving - 219 cal, 2 g pro, 41 g carbo, 6 g fat, -0- chol, 105 mg sod
