Chocolate-covered Cherry Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup: Butter,
1 cup: Sugar,
1: Egg,
1 1/2 t: Vanilla,
1 1/2 cup: Flour,
1/2 cup: Cocoa,
1/4 t: Salt,
1/4 t: Soda,
Maraschino cherries, drain save juice
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Add remaining
ingredients. Blend. Dough will be stiff.
Shape into 1-inch balls. Place balls 2 inches apart on
ungreased cookie sheet. (Note: May want to spray
cookie sheet with Pam.) Push one cherry halfway into
each ball. When all cookies are molded, prepare
frosting and use immediately. Makes 4 dozen
FROSTING
1 cup semisweet chocolate (8 squares)
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cherry juice
Melt chocolate with milk, stirring constantly. Remove
from heat, add remaining ingredients; stir until
smooth. Spread 1/2 teaspoon frosting over each
cherry. Bake at 350 deg. for 8 to 10 minutes.
Sounds like a cross between a candy and a cookie!!
