Raw Cabbage Pickle (old) Recipe

Ingredients:
1 large: Head cabbage,
1/2 cup: Sugar,
1 1/2 tbsp: Salt,
3/4 cup: Vinegar,
1 tsp: Celery or mustard seed,
Directions:
Shred cabbage coarsely. Add salt and sugar and work it well into the
cabbage. Add vinegar and spice and let stand 12 hours before serving.
