No-ordinary Chocolate Pie Recipe

Ingredients:
MERINGUE CRUST,
4: Egg whites,
1/4 tsp: Cream of tartar,
1 cup: Sugar,
H,
FILLING,
6 ounce: Semi-sweet chocolate chips,
2: Egg whites,
1 Pint: heavy cream, divided
6: Egg yolks,
2 tbsp: Sugar,
Shaved chocolate to garnish,
Directions:
Melt chocolate chips in double boiler or microwave. Beat egg whites
until stiff. In a separate bowl beat 1/2 pint (8oz) of heavy cream
until stiff. Add egg yolks one at a time to cooled melted chocolate.
Fold in the egg whites and the whipped cream until mixture is smooth
and all one color. Pour into meringue crust and refrigerate one
hour. Whip the remaining 1/2 pint of heavy cream with sugar. Spread
on top of pie. Garnish with shaved chocolate if desired.
Yield: 1 (10-inch) pie.
