Bar Cookie Base Recipe

Ingredients:
COOKIE BASE,
2/3 cup: Grated peeled cored apple,
1 cup: Brown rice flour,
1 tbsp: Brown sugar,
6 tbsp: Margarine,
FILLING,
1 cup: Dried fruit, chopped
1 cup: Hot water,
NUT SPREAD,
1 cup: Pecans,
1/2 cup: Light brown sugar,

Directions:
No-gluten recipe.

Knead the flour, sugar and margarine into the grated apple. Spread
1/4 inch thick on a greased baking sheet. Spread with fruit filling
(simmer dried fruit in hot water and stir often until thick.)
Sprinkle with chopped nuts and bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into bars
while still warm.

For nut spread, finely grind nuts and sugar in a blender, spread on
bar base and bake as directed.

Variation: Bake plain and spread with jam or cinnamon-sugar.
